sunlit panel, Metro

one of the niceties of DC's Metrorail is that it goes above ground in the 'burbs. there's nothing better for napping than a sunny seat in the end of a softly clicking train.

I've gone and installed something.

The Photography section is updated: PHP-Gallery is installed, and I'm cramming it full of photos. Please have a look around.

i've been messing with an old 500/8

It's a mirror lens ('course) from the 60's or 70's, and seems crisper than modern 500/8's - not that this is saying a lot... the downside is that it's a tank. It weighs ~6lbs and has a tripod collar, and a deliciously shallow depth of field to boot.

All film and no play makes Combs a dull boy, so he bought a D70

It's nice... very nice. Extremely responsive, more so than my N80. Autofocus is somehow faster, despite the same CAM900 module; exposures are much more film-like after a few adjusted settings. And the 18-70 is a steal for the price, given that it's Silent Wave.
