over by the Rayburn building, trying like mad to get the film out of the camera before it explodes or I drop it or I discover that the whole shoot was done in Multiple Exposure mode. One breaths a little easier once the canister is in hand.

Winter is coming; it shows in the delicate frosting of the driveway. As I wait for the bus, it seems to somehow connect - thought drifts for a moment, and winter is as bus: unpredictable, but inevitable and swift. Once aboard, I am taken aback - bus, too, is as winter, sterile and surreal. The sun rises as bus hurtles on, bringing a wash of warmth to the riders, and we wait.

Ever wondered what a dead hard drive looks like?



Boy, I sure do love those post-Isabel power surges. In all fairness, though, the machine in question has been acting a little wonky for more than a year - miscalibrated video output on boot, etc. Poor Mom. :-(
